I was doing my periodic magazine organization when I came across this picture from Romantic Country magazine.
I thought of my desk and how I could easily achieve a similar but less ornate and simplified look with a little paint and maybe some embellishments.
But, I love my desk and the two toned wood matches the different wood tones in my living room. Can't do it but its oh, so tempting.
It is such a relief to hear you say this! EVERYTHING looks good in a coat of white, but not everything needs a coat of white to look good. Believe me, I understand your temptation. Your desk is gorgeous as is.
ReplyDeleteput that picture on your fridge, memo board, something - and see how you feel a week from now...
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hope you don't paint it. It is so beautiful the way it is. So unique with the different wood tones.

I agree with Rene who said it perfectly. I like your desk and chair just the way they are!

I too looooove the desk the way it is...My suggestion is to paint the chair. (If that's not do-able try placing another chair in it's place the lighter chair will make the desk POP!
ReplyDeleteI like your desk the way it is as well. I think the wood adds a layer of interest against the white sofa.
ReplyDeleteI love both - that's a hard decision! I would be awfully tempted too!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of paint, but I can not bring myself to cover up perfectly fine wood. Guess I've stripped to many things. And I like the wood tones of your desk and chair.
ReplyDeletethe hrs of work to ever get this desk back to original would never make up for the time *white is in* this is a beautiful desk in its nature way i hope you keep loving it the way it is.
