Spring Bedroom

This picture was in the most recent Pottery Barn catalog. Its nice to see something other than the dark wood that's dominated and I especially liked this picture because I have a similar sleigh bed though mine doesn't have those great turned feet. *jealous*

I also noted the mercury glass lamp peeking out of the pillows. I thought of the lamps I have in my own bedroom and while I love them they kind of blend in a little too much ...

Then, I thought of the lamps in my basement that I painted silver last year and decided to switch them. After changing out my heavier winter bedding for my lighter coverlet, here's the new result ...

The lamps somehow bring out the silvery shine of the Venetian glass mirror above the bed.

Its funny how sometimes a small (and free!) change can make such a difference. The white lamps also look better in our basement family room where they reflect the white of the fireplace.
