Have you ever seen the movie Miss Potter? I saw it a few months ago and I loved it. So, I saw these books at the thrift store and at $.49 each, I couldn't pass them up. I actually like pocket books especially old ones with nice pictures, but don't come across them very often. These aren't old so I'm fine letting my kids have at them.
I also found these covered dishes for $7 each. The one on the left looks to be a soup toureen or gravy dish but its missing the spoon, so I'll just use a silver spoon for it. The acorn was a fun find for fall ($1.41).
Take a peek at the other thrifty finds on Southern Hospitality! Rhoda posted about the Longest Yard sale and I'm so jealous. I'm dying to do this but it wouldn't be easy for me being in VA. I'd have to drive there to be able to bring stuff home so flying wouldn't really work with all the restrictions on baggage these days. Maybe someday ...
I've been a Beatrix Potter fan for years. Have the books, Royal Albert figurines, etc. You got a deal on those little books. They are so sweet and I've always loved her artwork.
ReplyDeleteGood buys on the other things, too!

ReplyDeleteI,too, love Beatrix Potter...When my children were babies, that was the "theme" of their rooms and I did BP cross stitch for each of them. I have the books and the figurines -one for each baby. You did get a steal...I have to see the movie now!
