Winter Centerpiece

The holidays are over and all the holiday decor was packed up yesterday, except for a few items. Its been so cold here and I wanted to have something wintery but not Christmasy. So here's what I ended up with ...

I have this vase filled with pinecones and branches that I've had forever and generally use in fall. I replaced the natural pinecones with those that I painted white for my Christmas Tree. (I tried to hide the ribbons but that proved to be easier said than done!)

I put the branches back in and added the snowflakes that were also on my tree.

Why not get a little extra use out of things I already have? This will be perfect until I change my mind and start thinking about Valentine's Day. Its quiet in my house and I'm just listening to the wind blow outside. Seems like the perfect time for tea and a book I'm reading.

  1. What a beautiful table display. It turned out gorgeous. you've got me thinking about the trees outside with the red berries on them.

  2. Love the pinecones and the snowflakes. Such a pretty winter centerpiece. How clever to save these few things out of the Christmas decorations and use them. Love it. Hugs, Marty

  3. i like to leave wintry things out too... just need to pack up the christmas things first, sigh...

  4. I love it, simple and so fun. I need to take the tree down soon, and then redo for winter.

    Happy New Year!

  5. M~..
    Love the simplicity..
    Pine cones and snowflakes..
    what a delightful combination!!
    maybe I'll do something similar..
    or maybe not..
    at least not right now..
but a cup of HOT tea would be lovely about now..
    warm hugs.. Laughing smiles..

  6. I just love simply and elegant! Happy New Year! Miss Bloomers/Sonia

  7. What a pretty centerpiece! You could put glittered hearts in the vase for Valenties Day and hang Valentine cards on the branches.Easter would be great to hang eggs and put grass in the vase. Wow! You have got me thinking! LOL

  8. Lee,
That's exactly what I was thinking. My mom had these great heart ornaments for Christmas. I'm hoping to be able to find some like the ones she had.

  9. It looks great! Ive also got some pinecones in my new centerpiece.

  10. Delightful! And takes a little of the sting out of packing up Christmas...
