An apron and a dress form ...

I got this apron at a great thrift store in DE. I still need to wash and iron it but its linen and the price?

$3.50!

That brings me to another item I picked up over the weekend ... a dress form. I have always wanted one. For what? I have no idea. I don't make clothes. I see them on other blogs like Dream in Cream and just think they're great so I thought, why not? As I was getting caught up on all the blog posts I missed while I was out of town, I saw this giveaway post on Flax & Spindle with ... an apron and a dress form (check out that blog if you want to enter). Hmmm ... Maybe my purchases had a purpose after all. Check out other thrifty finds over on Southern Hospitality.

  2. That apron is definitely too pretty to cook in! Isn't it funny how we see things on other blogs, and decide we need one too?!

  3. I'm so envious, I have been wanting a dress form for a long time. Maybe you'll say a little prayer for me that I will find one really cheap!

  6. Beautiful apron, I had a dress form before. I bought it from a friend of mine who had seen oneturned into a floor lamp, with a big hat as the shade. It was really pretty and fun to dress up my "lamp" for holidays and just for a change. Seeing all the forms in blogland makes me wish I still had it.

  8. Nice apron! I saw a dress form at a sale once but passed it up. I've been kicking myself ever since. I don't know what I would have done with it or put it. But I've also seen them used cleverly in blogland. Should have got it!
