Starfish ...

I picked up a couple of these starfish in a little "tourist trap" type place in DE over the weekend that has has all sorts of beachy things.

Welcome Summer!

It was so hard to come home yesterday. It is such a different life in the country. There was an owl out at night (never heard one - VERY Loud!). In the morning it was so quiet, and the grass there just smells so sweet. After getting the starfish, mom took me to a little beach town, Lewes, and I fell in love with it. All the little shops, the beautiful old homes and of course, the beach nearby. Here's a picture of one of the streets with shops around Christmas.

When I got home, I told Mr. T that I would love to go back to work (we can telecommute) just so that I could live there. My girls would see their grandparents more often and I think they could live such a happy life there. We could go on a date for a change too. Mr. T hates working at home and he has trouble parting with the home we've put so much work into (no such problem here - new place to work on!) so my dream was dashed. Maybe if I take him there, he will fall in love too?

  1. I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and feel truly blessed to be here. I grew up in Annapolis, close to Baltimore and DC...so I really value the "small town life". There are some downfalls, like having to drive 40 minutes to get to a DECENT grocery store, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Great place to raise a family. Oh, and need I mention the multitude of beautiful old homes? They don't build them like they used to...

  3. Yes, I'd take him there. Who knows maybe he'll change his mind. Maybe you could find a house that has an outbuilding you can convert into an office. Then he wouldn't technically be working at home.
Love how you've used the starfish!

  4. Love the starfish and the cute town! Definitely take Mr. T there. Just make sure to find a home with a perfect "office" in it for him. My husband loves telecommuting and says there isn't anything you can't do if your internet connection is fast enough! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

  6. I love your cloche display too and hate to be a downer but I've learned the hard way, so I have to share. Starfish + no air = fierce stink! Shells are fine because they're empty of the creatures that used to live in them, but a starfish is the entire former living creature and no matter what, they will always reek to high heaven without air circulation.

  7. Tammy, Oooh, that's kinda nasty. LOL Thanks for the tip! I didn't plan to keep them in the same place for long, but I'll have to make sure I move them now!
