Mamma Mia!

I set this movie to record on my DVR because I was curious if it was such a good play that it deserved a movie. I finally got to see it the other night. Honestly, I was a little bored and did a lot of fast forwarding through the singing, but I fell in love with the rooms. The distressed blue paint everywhere! Beautiful!

Like this room ... the color on the wall. I loved the bed too with the metal and blue paint.

And here ... Love the washed out green and you can barely see it, but that yellow bench!

A better picture of the bench ...

I liked the wedding at the end too. Unique dresses and candles lighting the way at dusk to a cliffside ceremony. Very romantic ...

So, I liked the movie, but not so much for the plot! Anyone else see this movie?

EDIT: I should add ... I was a child during the Abba days. The music wasn't terrible or anything, but I'm just impatient and each time they broke into song, I just wanted them to move the plot along! ;-)

  1. Oh, I loved that movie! I saw it 3 times in the theatre. I grew up with Abba, so that may be why I loved it so much! Cindy

  2. I loved the movie - it was cheesy but I love Abba and the music made it great. I always love to check out the decorating and clothes too - my family thought I lost it because I thought it was cute...

  3. I was never an ABBA fan, but I am now that I've seen the movie several times. I loved it! The music was great and it was fun! But I do know many others who thought it was so-so.

  4. I made my husband watch it with me, and he squirmed all the way through it. Cheesy, but like you I loved the set and the beautiful scenery. I read the statistics on this movie, and it was the #1 movie of all time in the UK, beating out Titanic. Hard to believe.
I did admire all those great actors singing and dancing, takes a lot of guts.

  5. I just watched the movie last night, so what a hoot to see your post this morning! We had seen the stage show in Boston a few years ago (which was great), and the movie wasn't as good as the live version, but I still really enjoyed it. I love the music!

  6. The movie dragged for me but there were some hilarious moments that I related to, but I won't admit which ones they were, lol.

I LOVED the blue in your first picture. I noticed that in the movie and wish I knew what paint color that is.

  7. HaHa, funny that you post this because my sister LOVES this movie and I really did not care for it at all! I also fast-forwarded through most of the singing, it was pretty unbearable!

  8. Well, I am SEARCHING the internet to see if I can find the exact match for the blue from that bedroom - I want to paint my daughter's bedroom that color - I am not having much luck - I am sure I can come close, but I want that exact color, not just some baby-blue - Any ideas?
