I found them in a pile of other iron pieces at a flea market in NC when we were visiting Mr. T's sister in college at the time. They are extremely heavy and I had to hang them with serious anchors. I like change and there are few things (if any actually) that I keep the same for a long period of time, but I have never moved these hangings and never grow tired of them.
I love the fleur de lis details in them and the rust showing through the green paint. I entertained the idea of painting them, but then realized that the finish was perfect!

Love your sconces. I love all the details. I would not change them one bit. I see you live/work in the metro DC area. My nephew and his wife are being transfered to the Pentagon, so they will be living there soom, too. :-)

ReplyDeleteYour sconces are lovely......but what made me smile is your Wild One.....I had one too....just to let you know she did grow up to be a wonderful woman....she has 2 little ones herself now and is an amazing Mom.....I remember those days.... a few times I did think I would tare my hair out....hang in there.....you have an amazing little Wild One.....
