What's on your wall Wednesday

I came upon the What's on your Wall blog party and thought I'd share something that's been hanging on my wall for years that I love. These iron candle sconces ...

I found them in a pile of other iron pieces at a flea market in NC when we were visiting Mr. T's sister in college at the time. They are extremely heavy and I had to hang them with serious anchors. I like change and there are few things (if any actually) that I keep the same for a long period of time, but I have never moved these hangings and never grow tired of them.

I love the fleur de lis details in them and the rust showing through the green paint. I entertained the idea of painting them, but then realized that the finish was perfect!

Take a peek at the other participants on the Grits and Glamour blog!

  2. Oh I love those sconces...they are the real deal!

The finish is beautiful -- and it looks as though the sconces came by that beautiful look naturally!

  3. Love your sconces. I love all the details. I would not change them one bit. I see you live/work in the metro DC area. My nephew and his wife are being transfered to the Pentagon, so they will be living there soom, too. :-)

Thanks so much for joining in this week's WOYWW. I hope you can make it again next week. Blessings, Barb

  4. These sconces are timeless, no wonder you never move them. Ever wonder why some folks give up treasures like these?? I see you have a "Mr. T" as well. I couldn't believe that when I saw it. I refer to my hubby as "Mr. T" on my blog, as well! Happy day! Crystal
